Sun. May 6th: KENTUCKY: OHIO & CREATION MUSEUM

We got up early this morning to drive 4 hours straight through Ohio – I was pleasantly surprised at how green and pretty Ohio is.  I’m not sure what I was expecting, but you never hear anyone say “I’m going to Ohio on vacation!”  I found it pretty as we drove right on through and the Starbucks that we stopped at was in a huge upscale shopping center.  The Walmart that we spent the night at was the nicest Walmart that we have been to.
We have a two day ticket at the Creation Museum in Petersbur1g, Kentucky.     When we finally arrived in the afternoon we went straight to the bookstore!  Oh . . . . there are so many wonderful books and Christian décor that I would love to buy it all but I had to restrain myself.   We spent about an hour in the bookstore and then we went to see the movie “Men in White.”  It was about two angels who were proving with many Biblical facts that believing in evolution is for fools.  The movie was hysterical but yet very powerful!!
Next we went out to the gardens and animals.  To get to the petting zoo we had to walk through their beautiful gardens.  They landscaped with all sorts of plants that were most likely in the Garden of Eden.   We didn’t spend a lot of time in the gardens but they did an excellent job with the bridges and designs of the sections of plants.

The sweet little petting zoo had a camel, a zedonk – a zebra and a donkey,  and a zorse - a zebra and horse, as well as alpacas, goats, bunnies, and a large cow.  They all were very friendly but camel was particularly friendly.

At one point he put his head up with his mouth open and he looked like he was going to spit.  We all stood back, but I think he was only chewing his cud!!  The zedonk and zorse were very friendly also and they kept coming over to us hoping we had food, but they also wanted us to pet them!!  They were adorable.

We left at closing and drove to our campground to make dinner and wait for Madison to arrive at the Cincinnati Airport.    She was supposed to be in at 6:00 pm but her flight was delayed for 2 hours at San Francisco.  She had never flown on a plane before at all and her she is all by herself and she had to figure out how to change her connecting flight that she would miss.  I told her to ask the stewardesses to help her and she did and got it all taken care of by herself!!  Then her second flight was delayed for about 2 hours.  What a long day for her but we finally picked her up at 11:00pm, and she was safely back to us.
